The next day enjoy a complimentary brunch at the beautiful home of The Hon Michael and Mrs Susan Yabsley and watch a masterclass for talented young string students from the Southern Highlands led by an ACO musician.  Funds raised from the Event support the ACO’s National Education Program, which provides outstanding musical experiences to financially and geographically disadvantaged students across Australia. Through our programs we hope to provide students and young musicians with the tools and inspiration to continue their lifelong musical journey. We reach as many young people as we can, at every stage of their musical development, with the same commitment and energy that we bring to the concert platform.

If you require electricity then there will be an additional charge of $15 per site. For amusements/rides the fee will be $40.  NOTE: Prepared food stalls are required to comply with the Food Act, 2003 and Food Standards Code, and will have topay Goulburn Mulwaree Council’s inspection fee of $30. With a compelling series of historical photographs and railway objects the exhibition demonstrates how railways were once the cutting edge of invention and innovation since the first locomotive hauled the first train. DESCRIPTION:Buxton is a small rural village in the heart of Wollondilly, probably better known as the place where the steam trains run to. It is small but typical of most close knit communities that help and support each other. The Buxton Autumn Festival will celebrate village lifestyle and heritage.  The fair will focus around Buxton station with steam trains operating from Thirlmere. In addition to steam trains, the festival will feature stalls from the popular Creative Traders Markets, live entertainment throughout the day, Devonshire teas, childrens rides and entertainment, photography and period costume competitions. Seven strikingly varied gardens are open to raise funds for the establishment of the Southern Highlands Botanic Gardens on the recently dedicated site, on the corner of Old South and Kangaloon Roads, Bowral.  Featuring both town and country gardens with displays of floral art, botanical art and sculpture as well as a large plant stall with many rare and unusual varieties for sale. DESCRIPTION:SPECIAL EVENT AT THE LIGHT HORSE GALLERY.  World renowned stained glass artist Kevin Little has very kindly made and donated some beautiful stained glass windows for the front of the gallery. He was very impressed and excited with the way the old Light Horse drill hall was being restored and felt he wanted to contribute something of heritage value to the township.  At 3pm on Saturday afternoon we are going to have the unveiling of these windows. Wingecarribee councillor Larry Whipper will officiate the proceedings. Special guest Ian Hawthorn, from the NSW Lancers Museum in Parramatta, is going to talk about the heritage of the building and the role of the volunteer. He is bringing some interesting bits and pieces from the museum as well as the 1889 nominal roll for people to look up their relatives.  3 mounted soldiers from the 1/21 NSW Lancers will be out the front - in full livery. Local dairy farmer Brian McEvilly will be wearing an original Lancers uniform! His grandfather Major Richard McEvilly commanded the Robertson branch of the Light Horse volunteers and it is the Light Horse Gallery building that they used as their drill hall. Brian will be bringing a lot of his grandfather's extensive collection of original bits and pieces.  Also on display will be original photographs from this era that people have had hidden in their attics and under their beds! A sausage sizzle and refreshments will be provided by the Robertson and District Swimming Pool Association.

DESCRIPTION:SPECIAL OLYMPICS NSW CITY vs COUNTRY TWENTY20 CRICKET MATCH BRADMAN OVAL, BOWRAL    Special Olympics NSW have today announced that on ANZAC Day, Wednesday, April 25 2012, NSW City versus NSW Country Special Olympic teams will compete in a Twenty20 cricket match on the famous Bradman Oval, Bowral. Players from across NSW will be selected in this inaugural event which will feature many of the state’s best and up and coming cricket players.  Special Olympics is a worldwide movement that inspires people with an intellectual disability to reach their personal best through regular sport and competition.  It is not a single event and it is not just for the elite. Instead Special Olympics provide sports opportunities for all people with an intellectual disability regardless of their skills and abilities. NSW Special Olympics offers regular competitions and training days throughout the many established regions with qualified coaching and skills sessions.  While some Special Olympics athletes strive to win medals at either regional, state, national or World Games, others enjoy the chance to get active, have fun, make friends and be part of a family.  Not so for this event. This year’s Bradman Twenty20 is the start of what is hoped to become an annual battle for supremacy between city and country. It is an event that will enable young people with intellectual disabilities to wrap up the cricket season in a fun, yet competitive way. A highlight of the clash will be the chance to take home the Trin Taber Cup.  The Cup has been named in recognition of dedicated volunteering by Trin Taber of the South Coast Special Olympics region. Ms Taber, who is a current Special Olympics NSW Board member has been heavily involved with providing sporting opportunities for people with an intellectual disability on the NSW South Coast and assisting athletes across NSW develop leadership skills.  The match will commence at 11am with a welcome given by local identity and cricket enthusiast Rodney Cavalier. Mr Cavalier, is the Chairman of the Sydney Cricket and Sports Ground Trust and is a keen supporter of cricket.  The Primary Club of Australia, a cricket charity which raises funds and disperses all profits to assist other not-for-profit organisations including Special Olympics, will be supporting the event. The Bradman Foundation and Dream Cricket International has also thrown its weight behind the match.  And while action packed cricket entertainment can be expected on the field a variety of other attractions for spectators will also be on offer.    There will be a barbecue and refreshments and the chance to dine in at the Stumps Café and take in the impressive showcase in the International Cricket Hall of Fame. Inspired by the vision of the great Australian Sir Donald Bradman, The International Cricket Hall of Fame celebrates the rich history of the noble game. A unique and cutting edge museum, unlike any other cricket experience in the world. The Bradman Foundation operates The International Cricket Hall of Fame and any proceeds generated through its activities are reinvested into the promotion of cricket at a grass roots level. Full board at Chevalier College and full transportation to and from the Bradman Oval, the young cricketers will receive coaching from the best in the field!  The Bradman Foundation Cricket Camps & Clinics commenced in December 1989. They have continued annually with two, sometimes three camps a year at Bowral.  The clinics are offered to day participants and the live-in camps have catered to well over 3,500 youngsters aged 10 to 17 years. Many have come from all over Australia also, some from the U.K., Asia, New Zealand, West Indies, South Africa and the Pacific Island region.  3 nights and 4 days. DESCRIPTION:As 2012 is the International Year of the Farmer we are working on making the show even better and keeping it an agricultural show rather than a fair. For the first time, Robertson will be hosting the Junior Judging of the Fruit, Grain and Vegetables at the show in 2012 on Friday. Junior Judging is an integral part of the show movement throughout NSW, incorporating judging of many elements - beef cattle, meat breed sheep, poultry & waterfowl, vegetables, fruit & grains, to name a few. Each Group (we are in the South Coast & Tablelands Group) holds a competition and the winner then at the Royal Sydney Show.
